4 balanced pools (4 + 4 + 4 + 4 teams). Top two per pool advance to a 8-team single-elimination playoff. Pool rounds finish before playoffs begin.
Planning estimate, not a published schedule. Add check-in, breaks, team rest, officiating duties, and an overrun buffer. No third-place match is included.
Worked example: 16 fixed doubles teams in four pools of four play 24 pool matches. Advancing two from each pool creates an eight-team playoff with 7 matches: 31 matches total. On four courts, with separate rounds and 25-minute slots, allow 3 hours 45 minutes of playing slots, then add check-in, rest, and overruns.
The model groups teams into balanced pools of at most four and starts playoffs only after pool play finishes. It does not assign partner rotations, officiating duties, or a minimum rest interval. Use your event rules to decide the actual scoring format and match duration.

For separate skill or age groups, create the appropriate divisions or separate events and review registrations before assigning them. The tool does not verify player ratings or automatically balance divisions from form answers.

Give players a link they can keep checking.
When a court finishes, its result should not get stuck at the scorer’s table. Mark a linked scoreboard final and the result feeds your standings or bracket.
Players and spectators can use the public hub to follow the event without an account. Put the scoreboard on a venue screen, or use a shareable pickleball scoreboard for the match in progress.

Questions before you start?
Can I run a pickleball tournament free?
A single-elimination bracket with up to 8 participants is free. For fixed doubles, one pair is one participant. Pro supports up to 32 bracket participants; Studio supports up to 999 and double elimination. Registration is available on every plan, and paid entries include a participant service fee.
Does the software rotate partners between games?
No. This tournament workflow uses fixed teams, doubles pairs, or individual entrants. It does not generate rotating-partner round robins or automatically calculate new partner combinations.
How many games are in a four-team pickleball pool?
A single round robin with four teams has six matches, and each team plays three. Four such pools have 24 matches. If two teams from each pool advance to an eight-team single-elimination bracket, add seven playoff matches for 31 total.
Can players register and pay before the event?
Yes. Open registration, collect team details and optional custom answers, and set an entry fee after finishing Stripe payout setup. Participants pay through the registration flow; you review and approve the roster.
Does ScoreKeeperCo verify ratings or sanctioned-event eligibility?
No. Organizers handle eligibility, skill assignments, and governing-body requirements. Registration questions can collect information for review, but they do not verify ratings or provide a rating-system integration.
