Two Modes: Countdown and Stopwatch

Switch between modes without losing progress. Switching pauses the current mode:

• Countdown — Set a time and watch it count down to zero. An alert can play when time is up. Test sound first and keep the tab visible; device audio and sleep settings can prevent playback.
• Stopwatch — Start from zero and count up. Track how long something takes without setting a target.

Keyboard Shortcuts

Control the timer without touching your mouse:

• Spacebar — Start or pause when focus is outside a control
• R — Reset the active timer, with confirmation before clearing progress

This is especially useful when you're presenting and need to control the timer while talking.

Quick Presets and Custom Times

Use the preset buttons for common durations (1, 5, 10, 15, or 30 minutes), or enter whole minutes and seconds from 1 second to 999 minutes, 59 seconds. The timer remembers your setting when you reset, so you can run multiple rounds without re-entering the time. Running timers use elapsed time and continue across reloads when browser saving is available. They follow this device’s clock; changing the system time can affect them. Other tabs and devices do not merge local changes.

Time a Classroom Review Game

Set an answer window and announce it before each question. Reset the countdown for the next round; if an instruction needs clarification, pause the timer before continuing. Keep team scores separately on the classroom leaderboard. You check the answers and enter points yourself; the timer does not award them. Time a Trivia Round

Announce the answer window before starting the countdown. When it ends, collect the answers and mark them yourself. Keep the team totals on a trivia night scoreboard and show its spectator link on the venue screen between rounds. The timer and scoreboard run separately; ending a countdown does not award points or lock scoring.
