Make it a game with friends

Pick one of these ways to play. They use the same maker; no live voting or shared editing is built in.

Keep the discussion about the choices on the board. For a mixed group, rank snacks, activities or fictional powers rather than the people in the room.

  1. One screen, one debate

Open a starter on one device. Take turns placing an item and explaining the choice. Let everyone speak before agreeing on a final tier; if you cannot agree, leave the item in the pool and return to it at the end.

  2. Same items, separate verdicts

Send everyone the same starter link from this guide. Rank on separate devices, then use Export PNG to reveal your boards together. Pick the item with the biggest difference and ask each person to defend their placement.

  3. A second-round twist

Export your first result before changing it. Switch the ranking questionโ€”best taste becomes least mess, for exampleโ€”and rearrange the same items. Compare which choices move furthest.

How to choose your own tier list topic

Write one question that applies to every item. โ€œWhich game should we play tonight?โ€ gives your group a clearer decision than โ€œWhich game is best?โ€ Choose items people know; leave unfamiliar ones in the pool or add a โ€œHavenโ€™t triedโ€ tier instead of guessing.

The starters use S, A, B, C, D and F. Treat S as your top choice and F as your bottom choice unless the prompt says otherwise. Several items can share a tier, and you do not have to fill every row. Under Customize tiers, you can use labels such as โ€œPlay again,โ€ โ€œMaybeโ€ and โ€œPass.โ€

Have a topic already? Open the tier list maker and add your own text or images. If you want exactly one first place, second place and so on, use the numbered ranking list maker. If you are recording actual game points, use a score-based leaderboard.

Before you share

Will opening a starter replace my list?

No. Each of these 12 starters has its own saved draft in your browser. Your main tier list and other starters stay separate. Reopening the same starter restores your edits. Use Reset starter if you want its original unranked items again; you will be asked before your edits are replaced.

Can friends edit the same list live?

No. You can rank together around one screen, or each person can open a starter on their own device. Share link copies a text-only snapshot; later edits do not update a link you already sent.

How do I share a tier list with pictures?

Use Export PNG. It includes the title and items placed in tiers, including your images. Items left in the pool are not included. Share links contain text items only because uploaded images stay in your browser.

Will my list be there next time?

The maker saves in the same browser when storage is available. It is not an account backup: switching devices or clearing browser data will not bring your work along. Export a PNG or copy a text-list share link to keep a separate copy.
